Post Week of April 8 SOTD - Tuesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Saville Row 3326 Silvertip Badger
Razor: 13/16" DOVO "Waffen Schmied", Full hollow ground, Round Point
Honing (Refresh): 5 laps on CrOx leather
Strop: 5/40/75 laps (Torolf Linen / SRD Premium IV English Bridle leather / Ambrose Horsehide ClÃsico leather)
Soapreme: Floris "JF" Shave Creme + Floris "JF" Shave Soap + Glycerin
    Astringent: Thayer's Original Witch Hazel
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
    Cologne: Raw Vanilla EdT
Results: An early shave (and a late post) but what a fabulous shave to report today . The Floris software is truly top notch and produces some of the finest lathers this side of the Mississippi. The SR brush, despite its (very) slightly floppy backbone is an amazing contender for lather making. Its soft tips are amongst the best of the best. The Dovo took a few laps around the CrOx leather just to refresh the edge (not taking any chances...she's been sitting in the case for some month or so) and today she delivered on the dime. A fabulously close and comfortable shave . I am Catfish Belly Smooth and loving it (so so is the missus)

I am sorta back ...Still buried with lots of projects and prospects of fundraising (both private and federal grants), but my mind (and body) needed a break and what better way to spend a few minutes hanging out with my brothers.

Have a FABULOUS night and rest of the week gentlemen .

I find my Burrell to be a really nice razor, I love the SOUND it makes. When you say "Top Flight 5" what has it marked on the tang? mine has "no. 1" on it, as well as the wings logo etc of course.

Ok so I have learned a few things about this soap and myself over this period of 4 shaves. About me? I get bored with the same soap ever day regardless of how good it is...I think I have soap ADD. About this soap? Tricky to lather, when you get it hot damn! Easy to uberlather...
I've been eying this soap for some time. I am waiting for them to get some of the other bath soap scents in so I can order them with a couple of the shave soaps together. This review confirms it for me. How do you like the Rosemary/Peppermint scent?

    Carl,
How's Bailey doing these days? He and Jacky have been on my mind as of late and I received an email from Grant about Jacky's update

    Birnando,
So, playing "hookie" I see ...Nice W&B brother. These beast are amazing shavers, regardless of size (even the monsters)

They are amazing razors Joe...be patient and keep your eyes peeled on the Bay...They pop up once in a blue moon and you want to be there when they do. I personally love the CS Sandalwood. Excellent creme and a very pungent Sandalwood scent (for me at least...any stronger than this, and I can choke on it)

Hi Robert, thanks for asking. Bailey is officially ion remission, but the tibia they put in his arm to replace his humerus hasn't knitted. When they checked it out they found he had a staph infection in the bone. So they removed the screws (where the infection would have 'lived') and now he's on anti-biotics at double the normal dose for 6 weeks via a little pump type contraption he carries around with him in a little bag that's hooked up to his tube into his 'port'. Amazing medical stuff they've done at the hospital here; they really are top-notch. All in all, though, Bailey is very bouncy and happy. His hair is pretty much all back and he has eyelashes and eyebrows and little plump cheeks that wobble as he walks.

    Carl,
Good to hear about Bailey's fighting spirit , but sorry to hear about the infection...this is something that is a problem everywhere, in every hospital, especially if you have something implanted in you. He looks good and in amazing spirits . We adults have a lot we can learn from kids.
