I must admit Carl it's my fine Art back gound, always did come top of the class in colour theory, i do enojy a bit of coordination in the photo, but i also like to occasionally throw in a nice colour contrast to liven the party up so to speak.

    Dovo BQ 5/8
    Poraso green tub
    Ogallala BR AS

This poor Dovo has been nothing short of my "crash test dummy"... from novice stropping to the "Hey... this should get a touch up on the Norton 8k" fiasco, eventually it always comes back around and delivers. Tonights venture involved another touch up, but stropping on a printed page, (phone book, akin to newspaper stropping). Need to revisit that with more than a 24 hour beard, but between the blade and the Poraso, the AS Face-Fire factor registered a paltry 0.4, (out of 5.0). I'm getting the idea that the Poraso menthol bomb saves my skin from a higher level of irritation than I'd otherwise experience. Unfortunately, one of my blades would have to subjected to a lack of stropping / honing / mucking around on to prove this theory.

So..obviously.. that's an experiment left undone.

    Wednesday

Prep: Hot Shower/ Proraso pre-post creme
    Brush: Thater 4125-2, 26mm bulb
    Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5
    Soap: L'Occitane Cade/ 3 drops glycerin
Razor: #14 Henckels, 5/8 square point in ivory scales
    Post: Proraso AS, Cade Balm
Result: WOW, the "velvet squeegee" did it's job again. Think this razor is trying for the "exceptional shaver" category. The slightly smiling blade allows me to shave some neck areas much easier. As usual the Cade soap and balm have superior performance and I'm off to work silky sticky smooth and ready to face the world!

    Have a Great Wednesday Gents!

Robert, so glad to see you back amongst us my friend! And thank you for the kind comments.

Munroe, congrats on your post count. I saw your Fromm and had to get one. It needs some work, but a great shaver.

    Razor: 5/8 Cattaraugus
    Prep: hot water, Barbasol
    Brush: van der Hagen (boar)
    Soap: Tree Hut Shea Butter
    A/S: Chipre
    Result: decent shave
Comments: Playing off of my success with the Shea Moisture Shave Butter, I attempted the same thing with this stuff. It didn't really work. It killed the Barbasol lather instead of mixing with it. I ended up just shaving with the shea butter cream itself, which was an acceptable, though kindof oily, experience.
