    Monday & Thursday

It's been a while since I've sat down to post my SOTD, but this covers Monday and Thursday, all in one go!

W&B 7/8 Near Wedge in Padauk
    Semogue 1460
    episaacs 'roo
RazoRock King Louis Lavender Shaving Gel
    RazoRock King Louis Lavender Soap
    RazoRock King Louis Lavender AS
RazoRock King Louis Lavender AS Wax
    RazoRock Lavender EDT

This is quite an all-star lineup for me. The little Semogue is still getting broken in, but it does an admirable job on the face lather. The RazoRock artisan lineup is a dream! Unfortunately, in a moment of distraction, I didn't flip my razor properly and sliced a 2cm gash in my prized 'roo strop this morning! I'm hoping some crazy glue can fix it, as at least it's a clean slice, thanks to the wonderful edge Maxi put on this razor at the Toronto meet up last Saturday. I'm still learning the ins and outs of this heavy blade, but it's been a fun process. Have a great day, SOTD Brothers!

    Thursday

RAZOR: Feather All Stainless Double Edge Razor
    BRUSH: Merkur Futur Silvertip Badger
SOAP/CREAM: Acqua Di Parma Colonia Collezione Barbiere Shaving Cream
AFTER SHAVE: Acqua Di Parma Colonia Collezione Barbiere After Shave Lotion

...same lineup as last Saturday. I figure if it isn't broken, don't fix it?

    Cheers,

    Chris

    Good evening Gents!

    Shave prep: Face wash
    Brush: Fonex boar
Soap: Van der Hagen soap / Erasmic cream / glycerin
    Scuttle: Robert Becker extra large
Razor: Dixie Blue Steel by Dixie MFG Co, Union City. 5/8 hollow round point in clear blue acrylic scales
    Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Cypress Myrrh home made splash
Notes: Great shave tonight, one slow and careful pass plus touchup. Exellent lather like always with this combo, and the razor came straight from a touchup on my Schwedenstein. Almost no burn at all from my 160 proof alcohol splash, feeling smooth and clean. The splash has a lovely scent, the sweet woody fragrance of the myrrh combined with the woody-piney cypress is a great combination.

Today's shave was a mixed blessing, I honed 2 razors yesterday, a 4/8 Silver Steel Wedge and this 1/2 hollow Franz & Sibbald. The wedge went back into the hone me again pile, while the F&S gave a fantastic shave. This blade has a wicked left twist to the blade, which made it a challenge to hone, but I managed a great edge. Smooth and sharp. A great result for one, not so much for the other. I finished my face after a single stroke with the wedge with the 1/2 hollow. I already have bumps from just the single strip of the wedge. The rest is CBS!!! 3 passes to bliss!

    Enjoy the day!!
