Monday Morning:
Nivea Moisturizing face wash
Proraso P/P cream
28mm TGN 2 band in Butterscotch
MWF-"The Fat"
1st pass: 9/16 Clauss honed on my La Grise, Charlie Lewis Custom (on loan) honed on my La Dressante, and 5/8 Spanish point Puma honed on my La Dressante.
2nd, 3rd and cleanup passes: 5/8 Spanish point Puma (New aquisition for me, in the pic)
Thayer's Lavender
Alt-Innsbruck
I had to test 3 razors I had honed over the weekend. No Shave since Friday last week, so the man hair was nice and thick. First Pass I started with the little Clauss. Did the right cheek. Started the left cheek with the charlie lewis, and finished with the Puma. 2nd and 3rd passes were sublime! All three razors handled the beard flawlessy. They just plowed through it with no effort at all.
New Puck of MWF was welcome. I had been out for a while, and it was like an old Friend had come home. The shaves just keep getting better, and this was my best to date!
Good Shaving my Friends!
Jon

Great shave this morning. I used a 5/8" J.A. Henckels Platinum 401. I knew this razor was supposed to be good but wow, I didn't see this one coming! I'd honed it before several times and it would *Shave* but nothing as good as I'd expected. Then I took it over to my friend Mike (MJHammer) and he put it though a progression and finished it. I stropped it this morning: 30 on linen, 150 on leather -- since it just came off of the stone -- and got a silky smooth straight shave out of it. BBS everywhere except on the neck which always gives me trouble.
Prep: Piping hot water
Soap: Proraso
Brush: Pure Badger set in deer antler.
Razor: 5/8" J.A. Henckels 401 Platinum
Astringent: Thayer's Super Hazel
After Shave: Pinaud Clubman.
Gentlemen, have a wonderful day!
John

Razor: Erik Anton Berg, 4/8 wedge french point

I know what you mean John. I have a 6/8 401 Platinum and I don't know what it is but there is something special about it. Just gives a great silky smooth shave. Unfortunatley Mine is in need of new scales at the moment so it is out of the rotation. I must remedy that soon!
