Nice sleepy one-pass shave this morning in misty So Cal:
A few passes on an Illinois 361 strop
Warm water splash followed with some unscented AOS preshave oi
Slow face-lather with AOS unscented cream
Careful once-over pass using my favorite, Dovo Pearlex stainless #41 razor
Five drops of AOS unscented balm
Hot cup of Kona coffee while greeting the sunrise

Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: SRP Thäter Razor: Gillette DE Soap: Tabac After shave: Tabac Results: First shave with a DE in almost 18 months, kinda interesting really, the shave wasn't too bad, except for the 6-7 nicks on my neck!! Haven't nicked myself with a straight in months!!

Aftershave: as usual my favorite l'Occitane cade balm
Result: good, but with soap/cream usualy I have more comfortable shave

Nice razor. Congrats.
As for the shaving cream...I think you now know why shaving cream out of a can may not be the best choice for a straight razor shave.
Next time you're in a hurry, grab your trusty shave soap stick--Arko, Irisch Moos, LaToya, Speick, Tabac, or Valobra. They're just as quick and deliver a quality shave.
