    I think it is, myself. I feel that way sometimes with my Burrell; thought it has its uses, ATG for instance.

    I think there is a small trade off between sharp and smooth. As sharpness increases smoothness can decrease. The trick is to increase sharpness while maintaining smoothness.

    I bet most guys would rate smoothness over sharpness. That is, if you said "You can have this razor sharper, but you'll lose smoothness", they'll say "lean towards smoothness".

    It's EXACTLY like my digital; camera; I can have it on Aperture priority or Shutter speed speed priority.

    I keep my razors dialled on to smoothness priority... :-)

    But I'm probably wrong, I'm the opposite of experienced when it comes to honing...
