Another great shave with the Mystic Water. The lather just smells manly but the soap leaves the face feeling baby smooth. The Joe Chandler worked like a charm and I'm ready for another day in the salt mines!
PS - Carl, glad you like the MNS. I've read that some have problems with the lather breaking down if you use hot water or a scuttle. I face lather that soap and have no problems with warm/cold water...He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

Have a Great Tuesday Gents!
Carl, I have 2 of the Mike's Natural Soaps, face lathering is easier, but I have found a pretty wet brush and loading heavily at the start helps to build a great lather for bowl or brush. Top shelf stuff, I really want to try the Lime before summer is over here.

BUSY day at work today so I thought I would take a little time for a 3 pass shave with one of, if not, my favorite razor: a Max Sprecher custom that my wife had commissioned for me for are 1 year anniversary. It's a 13/16 blade with barber's notch. It was Max's first "2 color scale" razor (and maybe his only. It's red on one side and gray on the other). It's just a beautiful razor and an absolute pleasure to use. I had the pleasure of meeting Max this Spring when I was in Vegas and we sat down and discussed what I liked. He did a magnificent job and made exactly what I wanted.
Strop: 3" Vintage Blades latigo (30 linen, 30 leather)
Pre: hot shower, Nivia face wash and scrub
Soap: Proraso soft soap
Brush: 24 mm Vulfix silver tip (red handle to "match" the razor)
Razor: 13/16 Max Sprecher custom
Post: Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel with aloe
3 passes -- BBS.
Now it's off to work.

Thanked: 485Hey, no probs, each to their own. Your pictures are worth far more than my mere words...
Hmmm. I experimented tonight. With warm and cold water. The warm water did much better. I had so much lather it was incredible. I made the lather in a bowl for that experiment. This soap is going to be very interesting...
Yeah, it's really nice. I spent maybe ten minutes this arvo in the lounge room experimenting :-)Last edited by carlmaloschneider; 07-10-2012 at 11:50 AM.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
