Default Week of August 26 SOTD - Sunday

    The Name of the Rose

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Custom Rudy Vey w/ TGN Grade A Silvertip Badger
Razor: 7/8" Heinrich Böker "Our Very Best Warranted", Extra Hollow Ground, Round Point (w/ Faux Ivory scales)
Honing (Refresh): 4 laps on 0.3µ CrOx leather
Strop: 5/25/60 laps (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Shave Pegasus III Cordovan Latigo / Horsehide leather)
Soapreme: Cyril Salter " Wild Rose" Shave Creme + JabonMan "Rosas" Shave Soap + Glycerin
    Toner: Thayer's Rose
After Shave Splash: D.R. Harris "Pink" AS
After Shave Balm: D.R. Harris ASB
    Cologne: None
Results: Super smooth shave with today's choice of hardware and software. The JabonMan not only delivered mounds of smooth and delightfully thick lather, but the deep Rose scent was intoxicating. After a couple of laps around the CrOx, the Böker took on a super smooth edge and cleaned 3 days worth of whiskers (more like a forest). What a shave indeed!!! My face is as happy as a clam. Ready for another fabulous Sunday with family.

Wishing you a relaxing Sunday gentlemen .

    Cheers,
    Robert

The big Henckels is quite the "performer" !
Next week presents great challenges for me as I am sure it does for all of you. Let's meet them Head-On!
    Have a good one!

Great shave with the JabonMan rose, Robert. Next time you should dispense with the uberlather and try the soap on its own. Wonderful scent, supreme performance.

    Thanks David,
It is great stuff. I didn't mention this, but I did the first pass with the soap alone and the rest with über. Both were fantabulous. You know how much I loooove my über though...I just can't get around the fun of experimenting mixing and matching soaps + cremes

    SOTD August 26th 2012
    Hot shower prep
    Razor: I Hall ( 1795-1830) Original complete
    Hone: George the Third
    Soap: 50's Williams puck
    Mug: Soup cup
    Brush: 40's STA-FAST BOAR
    Aftershock: alum block
    Splash: 40's Walgreen's Bay Rum

The old steel cuts as well as the modern stuff and the blade is a dream to maneuver. The old hone did that blade up proper. All my unidentified hones are Georges!as in the Mad king! The Williams gave good account of itself. Would have cost equal to a dollar back then 21 cents the manufacture's printing. It was a tallow soap back in the day and so is lubricious, love that word, and supportive of the stubble. Walgreens made many different scents and carriers. This is still very good!

The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

    Default Sunday's Fantastic Shave!!!

Another week in the books men!!

Prepping for a Monday, with a week of training ahead of me. Ouch, 5 days straight of 10 hour days. And I'll only remember half of it anyway! heheh.

Prep: Hot Shower, Hot towel soak, Hot washcloth soak
Pre: Rise Baby Face Gel - non Lathering, under coating only
Soap: RazoRock Artisan Boston Tea Party
    Brush: WD 24mm Silvertip
Razor: 6/8 Pumeto Solingen #28 X restored by HammeR
    Post: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
EdC: TOBS Eton College - What a beautiful, Citrus'y scent. I love it, as does SWMBO

Excellent shave, excellent. It was so close and smooth. It made a ton of noise as I was shaving, getting at 3 days of growth. With my work schedule, I'm lucky to get in a shave every 2-3 days or so. Good thing the rest of the boys at work are just as bad! I really don't like not shaving every day, but I do prefer sleep. I wish I could participate more often, but I'll just have to keep working at it!!

Here's hoping we all have a great week! and in the meantime, enjoy a relaxing Sunday!!

Great SOTD's this week men, great job!

No shave for me today. Went to a wedding yesterday and proceeded to drink way more than I should have. Hangover doesn't even begin to describe the way I feel today.
