Top Flight Razor in Cocobolo: MWF Soap : AOS Balm : Vintage Old Spice Lotion
Finally got around to putting some scales on the Top Flight. The original ones were a done for. I went with Cocobolo. The shave went OK. I am missing the Norton 4k/8k. Just stoked about resurrecting another blade.Last edited by Mephisto; 09-08-2012 at 12:48 AM.

Today, I pulled the 6/8 round Clauss, the second razor I ever acquired (an eBay grab). One of my first honed, finished on the Norton 8k. Have always gotten bbs shaves from it, but the edge was never very refined. So, today, I decided to give it 50 laps on the CROx strop, followed by the usual 20/60 pre-shave.
What a difference! First thing I noticed was how much quieter the blade was. BBS clean, and a DFS. Clauss razors are keepers. If you ever have a chance to add one to your collection, don't pass it up!
Musgo Real for the suds, Brut a/s to finish.
Cheers!

Good Evening Gentlemen!
Though I would share today's shave, as it was a first time shave with a DE and a very pleasant one! As I put it up to my face, I didn't have the foggiest idea what to do! I thought, a 30 degree angle seems like the standard for shaving at all, so I tried that! Let me tell you, it was different.
Also tried out the Godrej Lime Cream today. That stuff sure does make a lather!
Razor: Gillette DE(not sure what type, was loaned to me by a friend)
Blade: Derby Super Stainless
Brush: VDH Boar
Uber: Williams Mug + Godrej
Astringent: Alum
AS: Loriel After Shave Balm
Cologne: C.O Bigelow Black Elixer
Result: Smooth, Close, and Comfortable shave!
Have a Good Saturday guys!

Luis,
Beautiful shot and great gear to boot brother
Thank you Joe. I never thought of myself as an "influencer" before ...but, I guess an apology would be in order if this caused any harm to the wallet . I have a feeling you may be right about never seeing it again, but then again that's why we have to go out and get another set. This time, may I recommend getting your hands on the 8/8" version of the Engels. You won't be sorry.
I feel your pain brother...Sorry about having a jack A$$ for a boss. The good thing is that the bad ones teach you what not to do when you become boss one day.
Ali,
Love the smile on that blade. Very nice
An absolutely stellar combination indeed David.
