    Tuesday Shave

    TI Le Canadien 6/8
    Semogue 1460 Premium Boar
    SRD Black Latigo
    DRH Marlborough Soap/AS/Cologne
    Trumper's Fragrance Free

My experiment of shaving every day for a week (I usually skip a day or two between) seems to have been a success, but with some caveats. Generally, I got less ingrown hairs than usual, but the one or two stubborn ones are still there and are more irritated by the more frequent shaves. I think I might take a day off and see how things heal up. Anyway, happy Tuesday, SOTD brothers!

    Tues, Sept 25

Pre: Hot Shower, 15 Linen, 20 Leather
Razor: Mappin Brothers 6/8" Near Wedge w/ivory scales
Brush: Thiers-Issard Super Badger w/ Black Horn Handle
    Scuttle: Dirty Bird Brush Scuttle
    Soap: AoS Sandlewood
    Post: Cold water and Alum
    Aftershave: Proraso White

Today is not my normal day for a shave, but today is not normal. Today at the university is the career fair and since I am almost out with a master's I thought I would make an appearance. I even cleaned the back of my neck with the straight. Remarkably easier than you think. I chose Proraso as an aftershave as it is not an overbearing scent and if I know the freshmen they will all be smelling nice. This plus hundreds of people crammed into the same place means one massive headache of BO and perfume. Two passes went nicely today. Feeling good and got my resume ready. Have a great shave, everyone.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

    TUESDAY

    Hot shower prep
Razor: Joseph Allen & Co. ~1900
    Soap: Home brew glycerin
Mug: Old heavy glass shave mug
    Brush: "Barbershop" boar
    Aftershock: Alum bloc
Splash: NOS English Leather " MUSK"Cologne

A simple and enjoyable shave today. The little razor found all the rough spots and cleaned them slick! Two plus a touch up and good to go.

And, no, the razor didn't look like that when i found it! Call me Mr. Cheap!

    -SOTD-

    Madras Razor
    Vintage Blades Strop (20/40)
    Semogue 830 Boar Brush

    Caswell Massey Sandalwood Pre-shave Oil
Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood Shaving Cream
    AOS Sandalwood Aftershave Balm
    Old Spice Aftershave Lotion (Vintage)

    Chad Vangaalen Background Music

Damn nice shave today. Missed a few spots but I am not going anywhere. The shave was sort of an indulgence for the day. Love the musky smell of the Geo Sandalwood. Fall is starting to set in. This is my favorite time of the year.

Simple perfect two pass shave so smooth, absolutely love the shave this razor gives out.

Nice background. That has given me some ideas for my next SOTDs...

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

    Bonus shave today!

I re-honed/repaired the tip of this razor I damaged in the sink this morning...so I decided to lather up and take off the shadow and do a test shave. I am happy to report it is better than before. (the little smirk at the toe will eventually be honed out)

My Grandpa must have loved this razor. I left it as is and did not remove any patina/staining. I love it too!
