    Thanksgiving -- November 22, 2012

Pre: Hot Shower, Nivea Face Wash & Scrub
    Soap: MWF
    Scuttle: SWK XL
Brush: Shavemac Custom (Birthday gift from my children this year)
Razor: "The Artist" Levering Razor Co. Max Sprecher restore (My Grandfather's razor)
    Astringent: Dickenson's Witch Hazel
    AS: Musgo Real

Thanksgiving is alway special for us. My wife makes all of her beloved Grandmother's recipes. Keeping with the "family" theme, I used my Grandfather's razor. It had been kept in a tool box for 50+ years until my brother graciously sent it to me as a gift when he found out I was "into" wet shaving and straight razors. Max did an unbelievable job on it. It's the smallest razor I have, a 5/8 but probably more like a 4/8, but boy this little razor does the job! Two passes resulted in a remarkably CCS, almost BBS. I can't identify what the Musgo smells like, but reminds me of whatever my father used to wear. It brings back such wonderful memories.

I hope all my friends on SRP have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

This was a wonderful setting for my long slow turkey day shave. I think I may be visiting this venue a bit more often.

The shave was quite good, though I tried a little too hard to get the BBS on the neck and while there were no casualties, I never got there and the aftershave sting showed me that sometimes your are better off just accepting a damn good shave and not obsessing about what even my wife does not even notice. I enjoyed a nice relaxing shave this morning with my Hart Steel razor, Whipped Dog Black Badger brush and Bald Frog Arabian Hookah. Joop Homme! to finish and matching cologne. I even took a picture, but I've been running around since, getting ready to host Thanksgiving dinner. Have a great holiday to my fellow US citizens, and a great day to the rest of you gentlemen, too. I'm almost ready to sit down and relax!

    Happy Thanksgiving Day!
Thank you all for being a part of my reasons for Thanksgiving! I wish that you all have had many reasons to be thankful!
Many thanks also for a week of eye candy and great shaving photos and ideas!

    Hot shower prep
Razor: St Paul Pioneer Press and Dispatch
    Soap: Stroker’s Find
Mug: Coffee Mug and lather bowl
    Brush: Home made
    Aftershock: none needed
Splash: Topaz, a Sally’s beauty supply house brand

a very simple, quick, and enjoyable shave!

My morning shine today: Those razors were a subscriber-ship prize to the best local salesmen of The St Paul Pioneer Press and Dispatch newspapers of Minnesota well prior to World War II, and maybe WWI. Damn good steel and a joy to shave with!
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!
