After 10 days of the girls being home, the house was once again quiet last night. I had not shaved in a few days and had a good growth. Upon arrival at Penn State, my daughter commented that I really needed a shave. I did not even think she noticed such things.

    Early shave
    Hot shower
    Boar Brush
    MWF Shave Cream
1959 Gillette Fat Boy, Derby Blade
Lathered and shaved in the shower

OK Shave, not like a Str8. I guess for the morning it is OK.

No picture today. I tried some of this over the holiday and found it pretty interesting. Thinking I'll stick with the occasional Scotch.

    I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving.

    Pre - Alum block
    Brush - Semogue 1350 Boar
Strop - 3 inch bridle leather with hard felt
    Razor - Wostie Peerless 5/8
    Scuttle - Robert Becker
Soap - Vitos Red+TBS Macca Root with 3 drops glycerin and 1 drop lanolin
Post - Alum block followed by Thayers witch hazel

What a great soap/brush combination producing tons of rich creamy lather. My wife kept the razor when my father in-law passed and allows me to use it. He was a nice man and I feel privileged to be trusted to use it. All in all a good shave. Hope your shave is even better.

Shave prep Morning shave, so a hot shower
    Brush: D.R. Harris
    Preshave: Proraso Pre
    Soap: Penhaligon Blenheim
    Scuttle: Simple soup bowl
    Razor: Max Sprecher Custom 8/8
Strop: Kanayama 20 canvas strokes and 80+ strokes on the leather
After Shave Splash: Nivea aftershave Balm

    Notes:

Took my 8/8 MSC or Maxtom or Mad Max (all names are appropriate) for a spin.

A bonus treat was lathering with Penhaligon Blenheim soap. That scent lingers for almost a day and all that time gives me a out of this world feeling. Sad that I didn’t know this stuff earlier, when I started shaving, some 30 years ago. Well I how could I? Max didn’t do straights yet, the stores over here didn’t sell Blenheim, and the web hadn’t been invented yet.

Now is the time to enjoy.

Apparently even four day weekends are too short. I'd love to take a couple more months off but duty calls and the bills won't pay themselves.

Default Sun November 25th - Sat December 01st

    Monday November 26

Pre: Hot Shower Nivea Face Wash & Nivea Face Scrub
    Soap: Tabac
Brush: DG Designs "Pure Badger" Custom
    Scuttle: SWK XL
    Razor: Henry Sears & Sons 1865 5/8
    Astringent: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    AS: Musgo Real
Result: Two passes eliminated two days growth without difficulty.

Good morning gentleman! It's going to be a LONG day. I have a full day and don't get started until 11 am! Looks l like the family will be eating dinner without me once again. Received the Tabac Friday evening and have been anxious to try it ever since. I also received some Speick Friday and used it Saturday and had such a great shave I didn't need to shave yesterday. The Tabac lathered like a dream. The brush I made yesterday (hence the "DG Designs") with the help of some friends. Finished it up with some witch hazel and Musgo Real. Made a pot of coffee, enjoying a lazy morning with the wife before starting my late day. Have a great week everyone.
