11-26-2012, 04:21 PM #52Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Simpson Polo 14
Razors: Klas Törnblom + GEM Junior (for head)
Soap: Dr Harris Almon + Proraso cream
AS: TOBS Victorian Lime + Tiger face lotion
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean indeed
This very nice but huge brush dwarfs this 7/8 blade and need twice the amount of soap compared to Chubby 2.

Hot shower prep
Razor: 6/8ths+ Wostenholm Pipe ` 1880’s
Soap: P-160
Mug: Staffordshire
Brush: Boar
Aftershock: Alum block
Splash: none
I do wish I had not had to remove an 1/8th inch chip from the middle of the edge! Still, in all, the Pipe was a good shaver. another trip to the hones and perhaps a new set of scales will be in order. I still do not particularly care for P-160 but I am learning to whip it more correctly for my face.
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

The Jernbolaget is certainly no beauty, but it’s got soul and a nice edge. With a slightly tightened pivot pin I enjoyed it more (I hate a loose razor). It’s hard for me of little skill to tighten the pivot on a razor with leather scales; I’m worried about wrecking them. I guess what this razor really needs is to be re-furbished by someone, but I do like its shabbiness and the forced patina I created. I imagine it looks like a razor an old Swedish sea captain would have used in the ‘30s…The Bay Rum matches that image. The old C O Bigelow cream did its job well on a foggy but warm morning.
