Hot Shower, Wm. Elliot and Sons, VDH Boar, Clearly Natural Aloe Vera Glycerin Soap, Aqua Velva Classic
Hard to believe this isn't a purpose built shaving soap. It lathers wonderfully and coupled with a remarkably sharp razor renders and uber close, uber comfortable shave. Kept this one pretty beans and rise with simple gear. More than adequate for a night shave. I'm off work the rest of the week so yeah, I'm digging this whole gentleman of leisure mode. I think slowly but surely I'm coming to the realization that I can't go full blast, non-stop all the time.Last edited by 1OldGI; 01-03-2013 at 05:42 AM.

First shave of the new year, as I did NOT shave on New Year's Day! I have only shaved with this razor once before, as a "shave ready" purchase. Well, a touch-up on the Shapton 16K seems to make everything just a bit better, and this blade was no exception! Quite a good shave, no irritation. A couple of cuts, only due to not being used to the dimensions of this blade. The Truefitt & Hill Lavender lather was great, although I find that I am not a fan of the scent. The TOBS Jermyn St. AS cream scent overwhelms the shaving cream scent, anyway. (As I'm winding down my T&H samples, I'm finding that I can all but eliminate samples from other sources that are the same scent when I don't care for it...)

Brush: Haryali London Silvertip

Soap/Cream: Truefitt & Hill Lavender cream (sample)
Scuttle/mug: milk-glass bowl
AS: TOBS Jermyn St.
strop: SRD 2" nylon/black latigo (30x/60x)
Result: BBS
