    Thanks Oscar for your generous offer. So generous in fact that I simply can't accept it.
    It's a daunting task to shave yourself the rest of your life with only one razor...

    It's one of my top three razors and after two years of honing experience, I know what I can get out of this one.
    That is exactly the reason I decided to shave with this blade. To rule out all other variables.
    Ceteris paribus, you know...
    Try a new soap? Take your best razor.
    Try a new razor? Take your favourite soap/cream.
    Simple.
    Well, not today apparently. But... to be continued.

    Very well, but please understand generous offers like this only come around so often...well, restated, they come around so often that they appear disingenuous, but whatever.

    honed the razor i got at the antique store the other day and stropped a ebay razor i picked up a month ago that felt pretty sharp and was poppin hairs and off i went

    pre= HOT SHOWER /FACE SCRUB
    soap= TOBS (sandalwood)
    brush=THATER pure badger
    razor(s)=
    1)EXTRA HOLLOW GROUND "SHEFFIELD"
    2)CANTON HARDWARE CO.
    after= Proraso lotion
    results= man that sheff blade i felt was gonna need more work after i honed it last night but after about 40-50 strokes on the strop (kinda went faster then normal with a tiny bit of pressure) this thing felt super sharp and proved to be on the face !! the canton hardware razor needs a touch up on a barbers hone or perhaps the 8k , it shaved well but it had a slight tug ... all in all i had a very good shave !!

    Wednesday

    I haven’t been here for a few days because our internet stuffed up; seems we needed a new modem…

    When I checked out the SOTD posts I saw Paul’s (paulj’s) camera post so of course had to join in…

    I honed a few razors over the last few days (what else can one do when one’s internet is down?) and this one came up excellent. This one had about 40 laps or so on the Shapton 16k. The edge on this is smoooooth AND sharrrrp!

    Cream today was C O Bigalow; a great cream for a warm morning…

    Scents were Pashana Bay Rum Hair Tonic and D. H. Harris Bay Rum after shave.

    Hope you’re all having a good week, and being good, healthy and happy (in that order)…
