"Max turned my POS into a sweet razor, and once I received her yesterday, this morning's shave could not get here quickly enough!! She started out as a 7/8 with pits, nicks, devil's spit, and chewed up scales. Because of the amount of work needed to get the edge, she's now a trimmed down 13/16.
Thank you Max!"
1+++ I've got Max on speed dial!

Prep - Basin of hot water + Shave towel
Pre-Shave - Musgo Real Glyce
Brush - Dad's old brush
Soap - Palmolive
Mug - Grandpa's old mug
Razor - 11/16 custom microtome
Post - Thayers + Nivea Balm
First shave on this microtome razor. Not a shaver for beginners, due to the extreme light weight, very thin blade, and crazy working angle (much closer to parallel than normal). A little draggy, might need more polish on the edge. No irritation though, and a close shave. First time trying the Palmolive shave stick, very nice. Reminds me a lot of Speick, although it has been awhile. Fun times

Tuesday evening
Hot towel prep
Wade & Butcher FBU spike point razor - Select Coticule touch up - Cyril Salter travel badger brush - Ueberlather from Olivia's Eichenmoos ss, Olivia's creme de la creme and glycerin in Silly cow mug - cold water splash - Thayer's Rose resplash - Truefitt & Hill 1805 asb - hot towel - LaLique EdT
So, what do you do when you don't get along with a particular soap? You give it another try. Still nothing, what do you do? You give it a try with your best razor, freshly touched up in an Ueberlather with glycerin. The Eichenmoos and I didn't get along from the start and I have put my best efforts in it for a few times now. I gave it the Ueberlather chance today with one of its own kind of cremes. My face is red, my mood spoiled and my faith in this one almost gone. The last attempt will come soon with the Palmolive cream as a final resort in an Ueberlather chance. The Palmolive gets almost *anything* in Ueberlather state.
Disappointed, my face a tomato and not the nice relaxing state I had hoped for this evening. At least the tunes of Paul Desmond - Take Ten, provided some relief.
Guess we have our good and our bad days...
PS: Disclaimer: I mean nothing bad with the above comments. The soap simply doesn't work for me, that does not mean it won't work for you. Never take one man's comments as the final truth. I discovered on this journey that I'm a cream-guy. Others favour soaps. Simple as that.

Thanked: 3I, for one, didn't take it badly at all. In fact, I was thinking another possible issue may lie with your razor, and to help rule this out as the possible antagonist, I'm willing to shave with it for as long as it takes to make sure there are no issues with it. I know what you're thinking, and I agree, it's a very generous offer I'm making...
