The Day? Another day of snow falling and the rest of the week expected to be the same, 0ºC. The Shave? Aahhhh. all played well together for a simple shave.
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

Tried some new techniques out and it worked well. Proraso, it gets the job done and does it well. From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

Thursday evening
Hot water prep
Wm Hargreaves & Co for barbers use razor - silvertip badger brush - Mitchell's Wool Fat (all hail) - cold water splash - hot shower - Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet EdT (tester)
Had a good stropping session prior to the shave and have had the most comfortable shave to date with this large piece of Sheffield steel. I played a bit with the pressure on the blade and that has gotten me more smooth than before with this one. Simply a Damn Fine Shave with quality Albion ingredients. The Blenheim Bouquet is nice, but on my skin doesn't have a lot of staying power.
Nearly weekend and it's going to get actually warm and sunny this time! Can't wait.

It has been a while since I enjoyed a shave. My father has been ill and I've been in Florida assisting my Mom. I've been using a DE with canned goo and little or no prep after a quick shower.
Today I was able to take a long shower and prep my face with Stephan's in the shower and warm oil. I started my shave with the Fromm. About half way through the blade really started to tug on my whiskers. I was surprised because I've never had an edge go bad mid shave. I worked through the end of the first pass and then grabbed the DD. I stropped it quickly and finished my shave with the spectacular edge that Glen put on this razor. I ended the shave with hot towels on my face. I did it several times enjoying the heat on my face. A quick pass with the Razorock and a splash from the Stephan's Island Lime and I was a happy person.
Enjoy the evening.
