I looked, and toally missed that one.
They also have a 3/8
Both are stainless, and reasonably priced, and the french point would be good...
although from what has been said by those who have tried, you still might want to cut an inch off the blade, and rescale it...
The Dovo 4/8 special has no markings, and would look decent if it was ground down to a 2" length... and rescaled... in pink...

Thanks Mike I was wondering one other thing though, do you know anyone who is good with working with metal that could cut an inch off that blade if I got one, and yet still make it look decent? I am not a metal worker, give me plans or an idea and I can build just about anything using lumber but when it comes to metal, I am just not that great.

I wouldn't trust my skills... If the razor gets too hot, you've ruined it...
I've reground tips in a pinch, but that's it.
The place to ask this question is in the restoration thread.

Kevin,
Cannonfodder on here recently did an excellent job with saving a couple of blades that were damaged and needed a bit taken off of the end.
I know there are several other folks, but he was the most recent I recall. I would not hesitate to dive in to it, but I would only on something of my own.

Thanked: 1It appears that the small SS french points are wedge-ground...hmm...would that make a difference? I assume you'd want something sharper for such delicate work. On the other hand, I can personally attest to the fact that such hair is not exactly silky...
It tickles when it's stubbly.

Thanked: 124Good God, it looks like I accidentally started the most popular thread in SRP history
My GF read this thread & was laughing her ass off. Now she's bugging me constantly for a coochie shave. Gonna have to cowboy up & just do it. I'll use my Allen, which is very used & has been ground down over the years to around 3/8. I'll let you all know how it goes.

I cut down a couple. Even reshaped a round point fancy backed Dorko to a Spanish point. Here is the thread. If you want one cut down and reshaped I could do it for you, with the understanding that things happen and there is no guarantee of success. The trick is keeping the blade cool. I run a water wash (garden hose on very very low) over the cutting wheel as well as the grind stones so the steel never gets over 80 or so degrees. I could make a set of scales for it as well. I have a very limited stock of pink ivory that may be appropriate.
Drop me a PM if you are interested and we can work something out.

Thanked: 1Was re-reading this thread, forgot to add, I actually do shave my nether-regions with a straight razor. It's not so tricky, you just have to be quite careful. Shaving corners is the hard part, pay close attention and go slow. And STRETCH! You WILL cut yourself otherwise. It's not fun, I can tell you.
