Thanx for the reminder to never ever ever play with things that are capable of spinning at high speed or with lots of torque unless we are sure they are turned off

After they are locked out we also have to make sure the stored energy is released.

I am sorry to hear what happened Mike and I hope you don't get mad for using you as an example of a person that I feel is used to being around many kinds of machinery and get hurt.

It sure is easy to have a momentary lapse or you get in a hurry and something goes wrong.

It’s good to be ‘living’ proof it can happen Tim. I’m ok being the example in this case.

Loss of feeling is not such a bad thing!
    It has enhanced other stimulus.

Good news from the surgeon, no more work needed!
The shattered bone, well it’ll pull back together well enough she said, and the tendon damage should be slight.
May have a restriction in bend, but not grip.
So dodged a much more problematic recovery. 6 weeks or so and I’ll be good as I can be!

Damn Mike! It could have much worse if you think about the possible things that could have happened. Glad you're okay and hope you mend soon! Keep your hands away from that snow machine!

So glad to hear that you are on the mend and no need for further medical attention to the finger.

Now, take a piece of 2" PVC, glue an end cap on it, fasten it to the machine with some hose clamps and put a stick of wood in it to clean the chute out with.

There is a reason God made scrap wood --besides kindling

I wish you have a speedy recovery Mike.

A philosophy I have is that when something bad happens to us it is our duty to find something positive from the situation.

Maybe some one you may not have met or a path you may not have taken otherwise.

    Good news!
Hoping you have a speedy and painless recovery and a few scars will help remind you not to be so silly in the future
