A familiar story: At first I thought I would just start with a DE and that would be the end of it. Then, hey why not try a straight razor? I'll just get it honed by someone else....you know I wonder how you hone a razor...now I've got 5 stones, a diamond plate, and a microscope in the mail.

A microscope?!? You know, that might be the way to go. Last night I was inspecting the edge on my Wild Turkey (not the whiskey, lol) with my 16x loupe and cut my nose on the edge, hahaha.

I hope you are talking about razor quality crox. If just standard green compound do not use it for your razor.

No that is aimed at knife folk. You want pure crox no mixes. You also want it at .5 micron. Most wont sell it you will have to get from a razor supply outfit. Paste or crayons are the easiest to use. Plenty of information here about them and why not to use compounds. If stuck ask and will help out. Originally Posted by Panama60
