It takes months to learn the correct way to properly strop a straight razor and you sure do not want to cut this beautiful strop. Be patient and take your time to learn this simple task because it is not so simple. When you get to the point where you can strop on the Palm of your hand, then you can safely use that beautiful strop. Good luck my friend.
Let me see, stropping on my hand could mean cutting off fingers. Stropping on the quality strop and cutting it mean i got to spend another 190 bucks. I think ill keep my fingers. Ha.

But seriously, i think i get your meaning. I dont want to mess this one up for sure. It will be my third strop. My second strop im using now and after a week i have no cuts yet and feel pretty good about my abilities but... im still going to wait a couple months before i use this one. BTW, i did try to strop on my hand the other day. Just seemed odd stropp8ng on something that wasnt flat.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

Two Wade and Butchers. A special coming from Romania, and an old genuine Bow that is waiting in my mailbox for my return from my Costa Rican Honeymoon.

    It is a fake.
BTW you may not know but I do collect fakes, so why not send it to me? I'll exhibit it in my little museum called Kees' Shave Den.

Purchased an Omega 10098 and 2 Shumate 135s from 3 different vendors. Anxiously waiting to see just how big this brush is.

Well, I told myself I wouldn't do it but I poked around Ebay and HAD struck again. I stumbled across ZY razor hones. Apparently the guys responsible for Gold Dollars are branching out a bit. But, it looks a bit different from the C12K we often see from Woodcraft/Ebay. They also made some pretty wild claims about it being 'better than Western oil hones.' Call me biased, but I'm not holding my breath there. BUT...

Free shipping, very cheap. I don't expect much, if I can use it for chisels I'll be happy. If it matches my PHIG I'll be ecstatic. If it beats it I'll be legitimately impressed.

And now we play the waiting game...
