Will allow me to turn small metal projects with precision I cannot currently at home.
Think I will tear down my vfd driven home grown belt sander for the cause.
Still need to order a chuck for it but I can swap between my midi lathe and this one for the short term.
    Cheers.

That's so funny Mike, I was looking online at them today. Sure would be sweet to be able to true faces up perfectly flat, do all kinds of metal and such. I know Pixelfixed used a metal lathe to true up his faces before adhering them all into a blank. I think you'll enjoy that thing!

Free shipping till Jan 4 at lee valley, so that paid for some hss tool bits to go with it.
Been looking at this lathe for some time as well Andrew. Perfect for the parts I need to fabricate for that old pocket watch I am trying to restore. Super well built for its small size.. And I can have the option to add a power feed to it fairly easily for smother cuts and finish passes later on if desired. Might need to add a second variable drive at that time though.

A vertical hobby mill only makes sense for my birthday, if only my wife see its it that way, lol. Have almost a year to grease the wheels so ya never know.
