Thanked: 174Early stubtail by Roberts:
The handle was obviously a later addition, but the blade is probably late 18th-very early 19th century. I'm not sure which: on one hand the shoulder is wrong for the late 1700's, on the other - dip-at-toe, thin oval-sectioned tang and very thin stubtail. Maybe it was a regrind, and maybe it's from around 1810.Last edited by dimab; 11-12-2018 at 10:41 PM.

Its O1 steel, not damascus. Its a really nice edge that it takes. And for the way it looks, its actually well designed. It has nice balance. I was worried that it might be a little awkward to shave with. But its all bark and no bite. The aesthetics suggest that it might be a little less elegant in the hand. Its not an issue. And the texture gives good grip.

Thanked: 315Hendrix Classics gave away some scale "seconds" so I ordered a couple items from him. He threw in some extra goodies as well! The stuff from his store is in the picture. Shave and bath soap sample and a razor disposal box. Like all SRP members I've patronized he is very easy to deal with.
