Thanks Tom, keeps me young always keeping at something I figure.
And yes, leather can be done very nicely in the laser rig.
Strop size images would be as easy as scanning the desired picture and dialing in the intensity required on a test piece.

A custom strop personalized just for little old me. He bought a horsehide and cut out some strops. all from scratch! Purely a pro job. Thick hide with a smooth shell! SWEET!
Vintage linen firehose and an awesome hanger from the same hide. The copper rivets and hardware roll nicely with the whole thing.

Topped by a 'distressed' look barber-pole strop sock lovingly crafted by none other than Mrs Tuzi. Now THAT is something to behold! Thanks!

After far too long of a wait, I FINALLY have a Norton 4k/8k hone ordered via SRD!

For the last couple of years, since starting this journey, I got myself a Shapton M5 12k ceramic hone a few months in. It is great for touch-ups, but takes weeks to hone out a small chip.

This year, my wife had told me to buy another new Dovo for my birthday. "But I bought a new Dovo to start out with...?" "Okay, then the next model up. Just make sure the bills are paid, and go ahead."

Well, I thought about it. The thought of the razors I've gathered since I started continuing to sit, unused, was a sad one indeed! I later asked if I could get the Norton instead, and she gave the green light ! The hone cost less than a new Dovo, and in short order I'll have enough shave ready razors to be considered a rotation!

The 4k may not be a true bevel setter, but it'll be lightning fast compared to the 12k ceramic ! Much of making the best of life is perspective .

Randall is a knife manufacturing company situated in Orlando Florida. #5 is the company's camp and trail model. Each Randall knife is hand made. I learned about this company when I was in the Marine Corps. Many of my Viet Nam buddies took their #1 model with them on their overseas tours of duty. Today there is a 5 year wait list for a Randall knife. They are special indeed.
