Those are great strops. I always worry as they have that fold in the middle.
Some conditioning, work it out gently.
If it is not too late, ask the seller to lightly roll or ship flat.

By the way, does anyone know the reason for the "Our 136" moniker? I've been able to find it was one of their premium lines, retailing for $2.50 when their others started at $1.50; but I haven't discovered what 136 meant. Anyone know?Attachment 266751
    I think 136 must be the model#.
Those shoulderless Torreys are great shavers!

I am hoping that a good bit of straight hanging and some strop dressing will help to straighten it out. Any advice on how to eliminate that middle fold is appreciated.

Yep, 136 is the model number. They touted that model as being ideal for all faces and beards.

What I'm trying to find out is why they picked that number for the model. Maybe it was the factory address, the name of the steel they used, the amount it cost them to make the razor, a winning lottery number? Actually I don't think they had a lottery then, but you get my drift. Why not 1960 for the year the Raiders came to be, or 75 for Howie Long, or 12 for the Snake?! I'm sure they had somebody in their employ who was psychic. Well, actually not since they failed to see that the safety razor was here to stay and they needed to adapt their production lines.

I would have gotten that blade simply for the scales myself. Nice snag there, sir!

I don't think strop dressing. Laid flat with some leather conditioner. Just don't try to bend it back all at once. May crack the top.

I'm guessing neatsfoot oil is probably the best option?

Neetsfoot would be the last option for me. Something like Bick4 or Mink oil.
Start out light. Too much neetsfoot is not good!

First I have seen with original cardboard packaging. Described as new, unused. Could well be.

    Aloha!

Ordered some Stirling Soap and Aftershave yesterday.

Went with the limited edition Iced Pineapple. Of course. It's Hawaiian.

Stirling ships fairly quickly so I should have this by weeks end. Looking forward to it.
