Thread: How to fit in here?

FAL was told directly and clearly what is the problem with his behavior and given multiple opportunities to correct it.

He failed over and over and over and over.

I even offered him the opportunity to participate exclusively in the shaving sections of the forum and stay out of political discussions where he apparently can't help himself, but that doesn't appear to be working for him either, so he will have to find another shaving forum.

Since he chose to make this public discussion I will share one exchange from over a month ago:

I have said this many times before.

I figure that participating on SRP is like being a guest in someone else's home. If you are drinking beer in the garage with few other guys, your behavior can be a bit different than it would be at a dressed up dinner party with mixed company. Your behavior has to be calibrated to the expectations of the host and all the other guests. What you might be perfectly comfortable saying in your own home is not necessarily appropriate for the ears of the guests in someone else's home, so you have to modify what you say and sometimes you have to choose not to say anything at all.

That's how to fit in, in general, but I have no specifics beyond that to offer.

Basically if you're like everyone else and you kiss a lot of ass you'll fit in.

If you're unique and think different you'll be ostracized aka banned right?

This is textbook mental illness discrimination and I refuse to be a part of a community made up of ignorant and Hitler like admins.

I should have listened to the folks over at B&B when they said SRP is being run by a bunch of ass holes and the core members are a bunch of ass kissers.

Str8Up, I really don't get why you would respond this way but I will be sorry for you to go.

What I suggested was basic civil decent behavior. It certainly was not "textbook mental illness discrimination."

Basically, the rule here, like on a lot of other forums, is that you are welcome to disagree but you cannot be rude or insulting while doing it. People get banned when they fail to adhere to that very simple requirement for decent behavior.

It doesn't have a **** thing to do with being unique or thinking differently and it is absurd for you to claim otherwise.

If you consider that to be ****** kissing, oh well.
If you think you will fit in better in some other forum, oh well.
If you had bothered to take notice, the main intent of this place is to help people learn how to shave a better way. It's not earth-shattering stuff but while it is being discussed here, there is an expectation that you will not act like a **** while doing it. If you cannot understand that, oh well.

And I will add that you asked questions here. You got answers and help here. I'm not sure how or why you feel that you or anyone else was so badly mistreated but if your feelings are hurt so badly you are welcome to leave, but don't begin to pretend that you or anyone else was treated badly. Unique and different thinking is welcomed here but being unique cannot translate to rude or obnoxious.

That escalated fast with a new member

Some people like to go out in what I guess they consider a blaze of glory. Now he has earned his creds and can go back to his home forum and play the abused hero. A thankless job being the forum garbage man.

Str8Up it's funny that you mention being warned about participating here I have a really good friend that was a member here before I was an he had it out with one of the members you speak of here during that in counter he was pm'd about going to B&B for the same reason you mentioned that same friend warned me not to join an to go to B&B I myself have not had any issues though maybe I just haven't rubbed the right person the wrong way yet. In any case you can't blame the members here of doing something wrong after only hearing half (or less) of the story.

On the bright side, I've never been called "*****" before.
