To be a MOD/ADMIN in online forum is no fun at all. I've been a MOD/ADMIN in a gaming forum. Rules are posted and need to be enforced. Sometimes there are "grey" areas, but for the most part the rules are the rules. I've muted people, put them on forum probation and lifetime banned them too. Not fun! Being a MOD is a lot of work..... No pay and people expect a MOD to be there 24/7 to "police" or correct issues. Most of us do have full time jobs, families or other activities in real life that a MOD can't be on here all the time or dealing with BS from the forums.
We all have our issues in one way or another. Whether it's just a personality issue or an actual medical mental issue. Most people know what they said right after they hit the send button. I learned a long time ago from being in online groups to not take things personally. If I did have an issue with some one and it was a serious one.... I would mention to friends first and see what they say or message the person I am having an issue with....and if worse came to worse....message a MOD.
A lot of people come and go in this online forums. I know everyone sees it. We all aren't always to going to get a long. But we do get over it and tomorrow is another day.Last edited by Willisf; 07-29-2016 at 02:31 AM.
Is it over there or over yonder?

I have had a strong disagreement on a topic with a mod and didn't get banned but many posters cannot have strong words without being vulgar or disrespectful, blame it on mastery of language or whatever. Being a gentleman IMHO is being able to disagree without disrespecting others and controlling your feelings so you don't lash out irrationally...

I'm not here to speak for Utopian,,,
But,,,
The issues that lead to FAL getting banned have been laid out for a long time & if you knew of them & the restraint that was exercised in dealing with those issues; then you would not have posted what you did. If you knew the history of the past 6 or 7 years involving certain members here, then you would know that Utopian would be last person to be under anyone's desk, let alone Gugi's desk.
I battled in the beginning with the Administration on issues other than shaving; then I got smart. I realized its a shaving forum. Certain members here, that I still consider friends, will no longer give me the time of day, because I won't battle with Gugi or other MOD.'s over certain issues.

Yes there is.
I have talked to people from all over the world here,, seen their photos. It's a way to travel for me, experience places that I will never see in person.
