You're right, I just checked out the Green and Red online (the two I have):

I see the main dif being Shea butter and Cocoa seed butter in the Red. I can't say I notice any difference, but I haven't used the green much yet.

I have not used Arko in a while. I have been using MDC exclusively for almost a year, and since August, I have been using Palmolive Classic cream (I love this cream). Today, after having pressed a stick in a container for my father, I decided to use Arko again. I was quickly reminded of the reason why I bought 10 sticks almost three years ago. It seems that I will be using Arko for a little while before switching to another soap/cream. I actually like the smell.

One thing I noticed one thing: in my case, I should not water it down too much. I prefer it a bit on the thicker side.

I will only reorder Proraso Red anymore. The white sucks and the green was much better my last tub. The red is great so far. Really great!

Someone send me an Arko stick or two. I will send you some Proraso white!

From what I have read, it is the same soap. If you want to try Arko in a bowl simply take a stick or two and mold it into a bowl of your own.

Be careful with how you do this though. I found that when I simply cut the stick into coins and pressed the into a bowl, they would warp/curl up and break free from the bowl after a few uses. Grating it seems to be working a lot better. I thought I'd take a short cut but it didn't work very well.

Dunno, IIRC I just rolled the stick between my hands to warm and soften it then pressed it into the bowl. Sure enough grating should work too. I have done that with hard pucks like Williams to make a shave stick.

The red is definitely the best Proraso soap, it has shea and cocao butter the others don't.

Yeah, the red proraso is nice. Been using it for the last 6 months. Got no Arko at the moment, but I put one in the microwave for maybe 5 seconds and moulded it into a bowl.

I like Arko. I've never used the Palmolive Classic though. Perhaps it isn't marketed in California. But I do see the Proraso for sale on a store shelf once in a while. I didn't know there were so many different types of it, red, green, white.
