To answer my own question, this is from customer service at Wholly Kaw:

Donkey Milk takes the formulation of the tallow soap to a new level -
during shave, creaminess of the lather and the post-shave. Donkey
Milk's amino acid profile and fatty acid content helps in providing the
extra qualities in the creaminess and it excels in post shave in that
the face is even more hydrated and moisturized.

Other users have experienced the extra moisturization and hydration.
They have also reported that donkey milk soap helps them recover from a
    prior bad shave.

    Nice...
If no sample pack look for the refill pucks and pass on the sometimes too expensive special container.
The smallish food storage containers or zip-lock bags allow storing a lot more different soaps
and keep them from presenting a mixed blast of conflicting smells.

The good shave soaps do age well. Store them in something like a freezer bag but I use the
zippy sandwich bags because I have them.
Be sure to label and air dry the puck before putting it away.

It is astounding how long a puck can last....
In some cases long enough to miss the discontinuation sale ;-(
If you find a winner that you love check and keep your stock full.

The market is fickle and one of my favorites vanished on me.
Too many single star ratings (like two)... because it was not 'strong' enough
but I loved it because the lather was +5 and the fragrance not
too heavy. My gal could smell it with a kiss but I did not leave a
room full of selfish me smell.

Today I tried Wholly Kaw for the first time.

King of Oud was today's soap.

From a shave standpoint, the lather, cushion, glide and slickness were superb. Dare I say as good, if not a little better than MDC. The post shave feel that it leaves your face with is outstanding. Not even a little tickle from the alum. Hours later, my face feels fresh and hydrated.

From the scent standpoint, King of Oud is robust, to say the least. It kinda reminds me of an amped up Tabac. I shave before I shower in the morning. It is almost 5:00pm and I can still smell it, even after washing my face several times. It might be likeable for me if it was about a quarter of it's strength, but at full bore it's not my cup of tea. If anyone wants a sample, just P.M. me or it will be on the giveaway table at the next meetup I go to.

I can't wait till tomorrows shave to try the Dark Vetiver. By the way that it smells, it will be much more to my liking.

So I found this kinda funny and a bit interesting.

The wife comes down from upstairs and says "I can still smell that King of Oud soap in the bathroom." So I head upstairs and she's right. I can still smell it too. I found out that it was the brush that I used acting as an air freshener. Could still smell it in the shave bowl too. So what's the fix?
I got the brush and bowl and proceed to make a lather with a good ol' bar of Ivory Soap.
What I found very interesting was how good of a lather that I whipped up with it.
Out of curiosity I had to wet my face and lather up. It felt like it had good cushion, glide and slickness.
    Whoda thunk??

Oh, by the way, the smell is completely gone from the bowl and brush.

I got a feeling that the good feelings you were getting from the Ivory was left over from the Oud. I could be wrong but I tried to lather with a few bath soaps and had no luck. This was when I fist started wet shaving so It might have just been me.

BTW, That must REALLY be a strong scent! Cool!

Gents I owed this to Pete1222, he exposed me to WK Merchant of Tobacco (Tallow with donkey milk) by offering his full set up for sale.
I've been shaving with it since I received it last Thursday. I'm so impressed with this soap, everything is outstanding.
Quick loading, super rich lather, great cushion, amazing aftershave feel and pleasant scent to boot.
As I mentioned it before in this thread, this soap became my top 3 soap.
It quickly became my favorite US artisan soap. I can't believe that it edged WSP, Stirling or even Oleo.

Come to the Denver meet in January, there will be plenty soaps and samples for giveaways.

Many thanks to Matt, Obie, and Jerry!
    Cheers.

I received my shipment from Oleo Soapworks yesterday and my first impression of the Northerly Island scent was that is was wonderfully understated. I enjoyed the sensory experience quite a bit. No element overwhelmed the scent profile and the Vetiver base was apparent. I want to shave with the soap a few times before sharing my opinion. But the initial experience was positive.
