Thanked: 603You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

I just load my brush with 3 passes in the container. That seems like enough soap for me, then I go to the scuttle or bowl. Or start face lathering. Eather way its normally enough soap for a three pass shave. JMHO.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Awesome thread! Question, I have been using blackship grooming co and paa shave soap I have found that even when I create thick moist lather that rather quickly drying takes place and I have to keep adding water to keep the soap slick. I have been using shave oil to assist in the slickness Dept. Does that familiar to some artisan brands. No brand bashing I am literally trying to purchase a soap that will stay slick throughout the shave? Which tier one soap would you guys recommend? At this point I don’t care about price... thanks

dshaves, one of my favorites is Castle Forbes and it's not over the top expensive. I'm sure others will be along shortly to offer additional recommendations!

Thanked: 250Dshaves--->There are a couple variables that come into play with a lather staying moist for me. The main one is how much humidity is in my house. In the winter up here in North Dakota the air in my house is VERY dry because of my furnace. The other one is how lazy I am adding water while preparing my lather. Winter time I have to add lots of water no matter what soap I use. For some cheap soaps like Williams Mug I add a dab of Creamo to the mix for extra slickness. As to which tier 1 soap I recommend? It would have to be Penhaligon's cream. It's spendy but a little goes a long way. Tabac would be my tier 2 recommendation. Hope this helps you.

I'll second Castle Forbes, any scent, great lather.
I'd also add, Oleo soaps. A new comer to the game here on the forum. But will NOT let you down.
And as Benz said, Tabac is always a great soap. It's stood the test of time and gives great lather too.Look sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz
