Take every day if you're a serious lifter, even on recovery days. Don't want to take too much, 30-40g / day. Take a teaspoon when you rise, one after your workout, (before too if you wish), and one before bed.

Ya, sounds about right. You don't want a pile of it because your body produces it on it's own, and too much will just get wasted. This being said, you should still replenish your supply if you're working out hard. If you're not, then don't take it. It's a "supplement", designed to give you an edge. The best alternative is always real food and natural protein, as Glutamine is found in foods high in protein, but we can't always get in the required nutrients all the time, so this is where the powder supplement comes in handy.
