I must admit most my riding is commuting, about 100 miles per week. With maybe 20 more off road if I can. I live right on the edge of well established trails so am very lucky 10 yards from my house and I'm descending steep hills through farms and then into thick woods. I get muddy as much as possible.

I used to ride singletrack trails almost daily. Not so much lately because @ 66 years old I can't take the beating like I used to. Still get out there occasionally, but mostly road riding the past year or so. My friend who owns the LBS, and is a former pro downhiller, says 1 mile on the trail is like 3 miles on the road, and I have found that to be true for me. But a good trail is so interesting and fun to ride.

Given the conditions here lately I think maybe bigger ratio! Slushy snow and mud meaning back wheel spinning out, I'm struggling to do more than stay still sometimes. All great fun though!

I rode for about 1.5 miles through the neighborhood. The snow we are getting is very wet so the roads are slushy.
