I recently got a fuji 29er (29" wheels) mountain bike for getting to and from work, doing just short of twenty miles a day. It's amazing how quick the fitness builds up.

I suppose most folks still run multi-geared stuff out in the woods, but I don't miss the complexity and fragility.

29" wheels, I thought you only really saw them on road bikes, but I am very out of touch and really don't know much about much other than what I have.
I did used to have a really nice Peugeot 15 speed racer that I loved, it cost me.£15 though that was 20 or so years ago. I killed.it by cycling.into the back of a.parked.car - that's the trouble with drop handlebars I suppose. I also smashed the back window of the car with my chin, hence the big scar on it.
I used to do about 15 miles a day to and from work, a few miles 3 nights a week for nightschool and then weekend rides too, I moved to Australia and rode about double that to and.from work most days for quite a while but eventually I got a work van. As I said I am slowly getting back into it now.
I will be back in Perth in a week and a bit, so will try to remember to take some photos.
I will say now that it really doesn't look flash, a crappy paintjob prevented cycle theft in London.Last edited by edhewitt; 01-12-2014 at 04:49 PM.

Here's my "push bike"! Commuter, groceries getter, and city "car". Ditch the car last spring, after my son total it on a wreck. Now I'm a one car family. The bike been with me 29 years and she and I have seen many road miles from around the world!

I used to buy my bontrager streetlites from Evans, they are a really good road slick, and pretty much bulletproof. 29" wheels just strike me as being a bit weak, and slow to accelerate, but they should be fast, but like I said I know.little, and if you like it then who cares. I take it it.has held.up well for.you?
