    I think a lot of the spoke failures stemmed from not getting the tension right when I replaced whichever one broke first. I havent had many go since I have been in Australia, it was mostly in london, and I weighed a lot less then.

    +1 ! Double0 is my bicycle hero. He is no spring chicken but rides the road to work and back every day come rain or shine, hot or cold. Not a short ride and not because he has to. Me I'm a fair weather biker by comparison.

    I only started cycling 6 months or so ago, I do almost 20 miles a day to work and back and have recently started going off road at weekends. I love it.

    I like to ride offroad singletrack trails too. In Scotland I bet you've got some great off road rides. Here is one of your countryman who knows his way around a bicycle as few do, Danny Macaskill ;

    Here are the two bikes of mine that I ride the most. The blue 3 speed has a basket on the front now. I am a wimp and driving this winter, when it warms up I will start rinding my bikes to work again.

    I'll bet Danny has some messed up shins. Love his stuff. The "Tarty Bikes" vid from about 10 years ago is still my fave.

    I was wondering that too, so I googled "danny macaskill broken bones", and came up with this cool interview here .

    Hey Danny! I'll keep it simple: How many broken bones during the years?

    I have broken both my feet several times...I've got a pin in my right wrist, I've broken my left collarbone 3 times, most memorable break was trying to keep up with Gee Atherton in practice for a downhill race in California which ended with me breaking my collarbone for the third time in 6 months...
