Nothing like a good hand sanding project! And when you finish you will know that razor like the back of your hand. No need to rush, it'll get there and all will be worth it.

More tossing, cleaning and organizing.

I used to go through piles of paper towels. Nowadays I use damp microfibers and Simple Green. Just a spritz is needed and lots of dust comes off.
Everything got a wipedown. After 2 get dirty, I go out and spray them with greased lightning, rub them a bit, rinse and squeeze. Dive back in again.
Even Gumby and Felix the cat got washed!
I have found that Diluted Simple green and an old floppy shaving brush you don't like will clean all those model cars and things with nooks and crannies.
Rise and allow to dry.
Getting there.

Driven into high water. Locked-up. Out with the converter! :D

That's funny, Steve! We were joking about the one where the good old boy got a Hemi dragster and went after the hero.
Pulled the chute right off the line! :rofl2:
Tom, you should see my buddy's shop in the back of his house. I've known him since childhood & I think when his mother passed, she must have been loaded. Damn, I tried to show pics but I need to figure out how to turn them because I took them with my iPhone. He has a shop behind his house with a couple '55 Chevy's with a big block in one with a blower, a couple of '57's, a '56, an old school dragster (front engine) with a small block Chevy with Hillborn manual fuel injection that sounds healthy, runs on alcohol. I need to figure out these pics. They were up but came out sideways & I hate that & deleted them on here. Don't want no one to get a crick in their necks!
No jealousy here. That's one thing about me, I never get jealous. I wish it was your shop! I used to do that engine swapping gig 20 years ago.
well....It's MY shop as long as the rent is paid...Same difference. I like to eat! :D
That's the main thing Tom, you got food on da table.
I worked for a place, actually it was closer to 30 years ago & we took out dead motors & put in rebuilt ones. We would go get short blocks & long blocks & sometimes rebuilt them ourselves like my boss rebuilt a 426 Hemi for a guy once. I rode with him to test drive it, it was a '70 model Challenger & when he nailed the gas pedal, the car was like a sidewinder going down the road but we were actually going straight. What a rush it was!
Steve, I find a good motor from someone I trust, have the customer to call and buy the thing on their credit card, and charge a premium to put it in. Not my motor! :roflmao
They CAN buy a warranty, however.
I had rather put in 10 motors from wrecks than 5 from 'rebuilders'. Just me.
Plug and play!
