Its been a real hoot, restoring this one. I was really surprised at how well the scales came back, wasn't expecting a set of 200+ yr. old horn scales to come out looking that good. I had a hard time refraining myself from sanding on the blade. Had to keep reminding myself on how old this was, and how most blades this old would look no where as good as this one. To sand it, would be to destroy all its character and charm.
I still laugh, when I think back on finding it in the wilds for $19, and that I'm soon to embark on a shave, that was enjoyed by those earlier settlers of America, or maybe George Washington, himself. Oh, the stories this blade could tell.!!Last edited by outback; 12-31-2017 at 03:47 PM.

Thanked: 250That's the kind of workmanship Mike put in my Diller. The Diller will give me my last shave of the year today and will also give me the first shave of the year tomorrow.
