I use the soft ones all over my house. Not any different than incandescent to me.
The daylight ones are blue. Garish to me.
Anyhoo, My box is open on top. I don't know how the plastic box will effect the light.

I need to drag it out and use it some instead of cruddy workbench pics.
Start a lightbox thread, Jerry! Has not been one in years...

Looking pretty good, Jerry. Maybe add a little diffused light coming in from the front top, from above where the camera is positioned.

Today i heat treated the funky wunky hybrid damascus and wootz razor. With this style of lamination always a tricky thing but the tink fairy did not come by for a visit.

I just completed the post-heat treament grinding. The blade is now ready for a bevel verification on the 1k hone. If that checks out, then it's on to tbe polishing stage.

The blade didn't look this rough in my eyes but the pic shows all I guess. Done with this one and will put it in the drawer to hone with a few others. Damn lightbox shows everything. Ha. I believe this is the rosewood. I got to start writing this stuff down!
I finish this with Polycrylic. Just had to try. Think I'll be going back to the Tru-oil.

Beautiful scales, Jerry! The grain is awesome, a very handsome wood. And the blade looks great from here, nice pics!

Did a little work on this tip tonight. It was pitted pretty badly, but with a little sandpaper and elbow grease...

Its got some pitting on the blade face and back too but I don't want to sand too much more being as hollow as it is. I'll live with a bit of scaring on the blade.

Daughter was sitting on the couch looking at her story books (and not ripping them) so I decided to try and clean up some old horn scales I'm trying to finish after getting some pointers from Outback.
Scrub them with steel wood and feel like they are looking better. Feeling optimistic.
Look over the Pack-N-Play where my daughter is playing and she has a month's worth of wipes (Costco) strewn across the living room!
