Rolodave was, recently, kind enough to slab it for me.
One would not have guessed that material was plastic. Love the look of those scales!

    It’s looking pretty good Jerry.
It is all about getting the lighting soft and even and eliminating the shadows.
Most of my forum pictures are with my iPad these days. If I use my SLR I go with a slower shutter speed and a tripod, it helps if I have a small aperature, slow shutter speed, that gets the depth of field at its greatest and the tripod keeps it from blurring. I’m sure there are a few here that could go into great depth on the subject.

I don't mess with all the setup much, but I found blowing light in from the top and from the front at angles works best for me. As Rez said, it keeps the shadows down.

I got lights on both sides but not on the top. Dont have enough lights. Ha. I'm also using those florecent light bulbs. Dont have any regular one in the house. I was thinking it could use a little more light.
This is donr with the cell phone. Its the only camera I have. I've been fighting with trying to keep the light from reflecting of of things in my pics. So dug out what I had started and tried again on the light box.

No more truck in the background.

Here is my fancy light box...

I like the LED bulbs, myself. Try one from the top and another blowing in from the front.
Move the subject and the lights to get reflections of the white. Experiment with white balance.
See if you can do a preset white balance with your camera.
Been a long time since I messed with a light box. I remember you can stand back and zoom in to get some good ones

LED's hurt my eyes in person but they can make nice pictures.

I could give some LEDs a try. Thanks for the hint.
