Thanks Mike! I'll get a toothpick or find something conical to help open it up a hair for the CA..
The face of the scale is actually concaved there a bit, so I may have to heat it up and flatten it some more before gluing. I'll try to get the other pin out without making any more holes to fill.

Go slow with removing the old pin, use your loupe to make sure you stay centered in the collar. I use a small magnifying glass. No problems...!!!

I'll look for a magnifying glass. I ordered a wire gauge drill bit for starting the holes, so I'll see how well that works.
My biggest obstacle is making myself slow down enough to do it right!

While I do have a lighted loupe I also have two pairs of these.

The 10" focal length and a 4" focal length. They work quite well and it's nice to be able to use both hands.

Another tip.... Always drill out the back side...nobody really cares about that side, should bad things happen.

Those would certainly do the job Roy. I think I'm going to see what they have at the Dollar Tree first.

With my eyes no longer being perfect, the Dork Lord glasses are a shop essential.

Glued the crack and filled the remaining channel with what powder I had from sanding. May try to fill area at the end some more. Idiot mark at pivot needs more filling.
Scales are off color, so I'm not sure about the best thing to build up the spots where horn has broken off.
Hopefully they will look pretty good after the final soak/polish.
Blade is a W&B wedge so I'm looking forward to seeing what Glen does with it!

Thanks Mike.I may do that and just put a little CA on those parts so they don't chip off any more. I tried the lapping method you mentioned and it seemed to work better this time. I need to do a test fit when I get the blade back if I can find a micro fastener.
Plan on ordering a test fitting fastener from the seller in Romania when he makes more.

If I don't do a full horn repair in guess I can always go back and do more later (Lord willing) when I have my own workspace.
