Beautiful scales Jerry. I don't why I didn't use tru oil on my earlier wood scale attempts instead of spending so much time on a CA finish that looks good but scratches easy.
I like the way you paralleled (I know that isn't the correct term in this case though) the orientation of the pivot and wedge end.

And if you aren't happy with any of your wood scales just send them to me!!

Ya done really good on this one Jerry!

I love the shape of the scales.
    Congratulations and enjoy!

Nice job, Jerry! That blade was a great shaver when I pulled it from it's crumbling scales.
    Should not take too much!

Thanks for the info Tom. I will give it a trip on the stones and have a shave with it this weekend.

    Hope it shaves good, Jerry!

I goaded myself into a project today. Perfectly nice old Tripoli Special.

Got it honed with a sweet edge and decided it needed tightening-up a bit.
Besides, it closed to the back scale too close for comfort.
Nope. Sort of solid taps on one side. Boing-boing on the other?

Smushed the collars and drilled the pin-out on one side and disassembled the top. Suspect bent pin.
Saw the Pin was slightly z'd and the remaining collar was facing somewhere else besides where the pin was pointing. Pin holes were north and south a bit.

Finally decided to slather the blade with Tuff-Glide and the scales with wet 3M silicone.

Gonna get some new gold in the tang-stamps, oversize the top pivot holes to 5/64.

Then, pin it up at the top with some stacked vintage collars or something...
Gotta pick through. Find some collars! They are in there...Somewhere!

Lay it on smooth and slick, come back and there are bubbles.
Keep rubbing the bubbles out. They take it in.

I take it that this is the proper 'slick'?

Yes. Nothing better for your weatherstrips and soft stuff.

Spray it on rubber bushings! Window channels.

I have had it help the most and not hurt the rest.
    Goodness in a can!
