Some junk shops have short lengths or some small metal sellers and welders also do. If they do; the cut to length would be usually a 3pound can of coffee.

While Richard is right because some of these metal sellers or scrap yards might have some, I found mine on eBay for about $15-$20. You will have to hunt for it. if you can't find it in places like Richard mentioned, you can find it on eBay but many will want way more for it but if you keep looking, someone will have a piece for the right price.

Sorry for the delay, busy morning.
But like others said, check scrap yards. But if you have train tracks( active) near you, take a walk down the tracks.
Repairs have to be made occasionally.
Thats how i got mine.
Was out doing a little fishing, tracks run the length of the lake.
Seen it laying along the bank along with some larger pieces that were too heavy to carry. The small piece i have wieghs 12# 1 1/2 oz.@ 4 1/2"
The others were between 3-5' long.
So thats like around 40# per foot.
And at 1/2-1 mile from the truck!
I DONT THINK SO

It's not a piece of jewellery so no, no guages needed or slavery involved.
And it's not an arrow rest.
It's used on the drawing hand to pull the string which sits on the ring's lip. Yes it's not a lot of contact but what a fast release ! That side is convex as in pic. the reverse side is concaved slightly, possibly heping the thumb to flex a little & lock the ring in place so it doesn't take off with the arrow.
From my googling, no one uses jade rings for archery , too slippery. Antlers Ivories & bones are hard enough while giving a good friction fit on the thumb.Last edited by onimaru55; 08-01-2015 at 09:10 PM.

Guess i learned somthing new.
Never heard of one.
Shot and hunted archery for years.
Even some compition shooting
( fixed site compound and instictive recurve) hunting bows.
No stabilizers, scopes, mechanical releases. Bare finger or finger tabs and the ol three finger glove.
Thanks for the knowledge

I truly didn't think it was an arrow rest but I knew it had something to do with archery. I always wanted to get into it but the only kind I could use now would be a crossbow since I don't have a collarbone in my left shoulder due to a motorcycle accident back in '89. I had a compound bow until the accident back then but had to get rid of it.
