Stop your stroke before the crack. Pictures of the crack please. Flip your hone around and put the crack at the other end.
Find a way to overcome. That is a wet shavers way.

I have pictures but alas they are on my SLR and I'm on the move.

With this being a rolls razor I don't think flipping before the crack is doable as it's reaching the end that initiates the flip.

    Hi
THe Rolls pushes the blade on the stone and drags on the strop.
If the stone were repaired and smoothed in the area of the crack the blade would push over the cracked area, probably

I got lucky & I found a replacement hone & strop for a Rolls Razor once on eBay. I missed a strop awhile back but it wasn't that important to me. The hone is such a thin piece, it is the more important part. You can be patient & wait for one or buy another Rolls Razor that is missing the handle which I have seen many missing that & write the seller to see if they will possibly make you a good deal on it.

Some work in progress. Top to bottom, left to right:
    1) Ladder pattern bar, made from Damascus and O2 core san mai. No idea what this will look like. The bar will be cut in half to make a kitchen knife and a razor.
    2) 1095 15N20 Damascus kitchen knife
    3) Piece of Ed Schempp Turkish twist Damascus, drawn out from a thicker slab. That will be a stock removal razor.
    4) Razor blank forged from Hank Knickmeyer damascus
    5) small wootz meat slicer

Yep, that's the one I made in TX during the lunch break.
This weekend I hammered the edge a bit flatter and now it's in the process of being cleaned up for heat treatment. As is the wootz blade.

The rectangular piece needs to be cleaned up further. Originally I was going to get 2 razors from that, but one of the twist layers split, as you can see. So it will be 1 razor, and if the lower piece stays whole, a small fruit knife perhaps. For the ladder pattern I need to grind away the bumps, which is probably going to be a very tedious task but that's the only way to get ladder pattern.

Went through my stuff and have landed upon the makings of the rest of the set.
A Henckels 50, My Wester Bros 'Atta Boy' And a nice Weck. Should fill the bill. Great striped Solingen shavers.
A neat striped box is in the works, A trip to the fabric store........

So to the Genco/Geneva Victims of this crazily-striped project, One set of stripes and a plethora of old wild Genco scales are around. Lots of work to do on all of them!
