The finished Tally Ho blade. She has some imperfections but I'm ok with that for an older razor.
Can't wait to get the scales back on, hone it up and give it a test shave!

Kropp
Just finished this Kropp — Made and Ground in Sheffield. Polished up and new scales. Honed up for tomorrow.
I really wanted to keep the old patina, but had some spots that needed addressing.
Before (auction pic) and after.

Thanked: 4827That nice grey patina is hard to beat. There is a few ways of getting it back. You can force a patina with hot vinegar or you can do it with bold bluing or I use a product made by a company called Jax, and it came from a jewellers supply shop. I have done bluing and bleach as well, the majority of the effect comes from the bluing.

Some nice work coming along guys. Congrats on the outcome. I had too many things going on but managed to get my wall shelf put together and painted. I will get it hung tomorrow and put some stuff in it for a pic. Stay tuned! It's not perfect. I see where I got a little sloppy putting it together, but its good enough for me.

I've been sanding on this blade for 4 hours now. I'm trying not to wipe out the lines or the edge of the spine. Its much better but still pitted a little on the blade and a lot still on the tang. Not sure I'm going to get it much better. I got to give my fingers a rest so I'm going to the scales for a while. I might go back to the tang a little more but damn! This thing was in bad shape.

That's where the dremel and some 400/600 greaseless would be handy, Jerry!
