So what is twisted? Both scales? Unpin the top and see if the bottom was too tightly pinned while not being aligned and it happened as the top was pinned?
Looks strange for bone. They don't usually have issues to that extreme.....

Speaking of issues, I got my top pin too short and wound-up smashing the top collars trying to hit the pin.
Drilled it out and started over. Turned-out nice.

I had one of these little smiling Engstroms years ago I pinned in ivory and it shaved like a big dog.
A friend had to have it.
Another chance at one now. Thanks to entropy Mike for the blade! Thanks to Mikeb52 for helping with the inlay!

3 razors contributed to it as well. Should be a fun one!

What a great looking razor you have there sharptonn! The see through red with the inlay is perfect for that razor and the red devil theme. Also, thanks for sharing about the little setbacks in the process. Issues usually come up when doing these projects and hearing about it reminds me perseverance is the way to get great results like that! Excellent work!

Yes, the scales. I could still move the wedge.
I had never unpinned that end, just pulled the blade and gave um a scrubbin. Then put this blade in.
    Here's some better pics.

Now you can see the twist!!

Thanks! These blades were supposedly made from wire rope!
All the parts involved are from 20's/30's I think.

Indeed, I like to share the trials and tribulations involved. That pin-length is a booger!

About the time you think you have it down-pat. one will reach up and bite you!

Anyone who does not ever relate to problems on a build is holding back to make their self look perfect and depriving others of benefiting from the lessons learned. JMHO.

Blemishes/mistakes and solutions are why we are here, I think!

Do it close, Mike? I like 'em with some personality. Wedge a half-clothespin in and push the blade over.
    Tighten the pins a smidge!

Sooo. How do you straighten bone. Old, hard bone..... Sand the insides flat? Seems enough meat for that?

I remember as a kid, pulling chicken wishbones was a fun contest. Soaking one in vinegar was a hoot as it was presented.
    Made the bone like rubber.

Nope, the blade hits just inside the scales. May be able to shim the blade at the pivot though. But I'm gonna start with a little thicker wedge ( blade needs to sit a little deeper ) and see if I can flatten these out. If they won't...then I shimm the pivot.
