A nice silver chain with a clasp or if it is heavier a lobster clasp would do the job well. Excellent work. Some of the old silver dollars have that color toning which makes them worth more if it is original but people are now using different methods (chemicals) for toning them & trying to get more money for them. I believe there is a way to find out if it is real or not.

I think this was made from oyster mother of pearl, it has some blackish / violet reflects.
I would like to see those old dollars you're talking about. It must have a nice overall look.

Thanked: 4206Finally been able to get some time on some razors these last few weeks.
Making a couple pair of horn skins for a pair of good condition German blades for a fellow member.
A dark set for a nice looking Dovo.
Attachment 242663
Went with a lead wedge and nickel pins and washers, keeping it all white metal tones against the black horn, and a nose end that follows the blade profile.
And this blond slab is going to be wrapping around a revisor, also round nose.

This one will be with a brass wedge and pins to compliment the gold wash on the blade and the color of the horn.
Should have this one pinned up by tomorrow. Had these on the bench a while waiting to get done. Happy to have them nearly completed as the owner has been most patient with all the other stuff I had on my plate this season.

I like the black horn with the silver too, Mike. That looks really great, glad you found some time for it. I've been planning on pairing some blond scale with brass as well. A good combo, look forward to seeing it!

Spent the last few days sanding down the blade at 180. Most of the large pitting is gone. Think I would have to move down in grit to get the rest. I definitely don't mind a little character so I'm debating if I want to move up in grit. I can feel the perfectionist in me trying to cone out[emoji1]. Here's a little before and after.
