Dang Rez! I never knew..
If you could give us some high-def close ups, I'd love to see more of that work.

Well, as some of you know I’m a fan of 4/8 razors. I’ve been collecting them for some time now and think I’ve finally found 7 that I really like - That all shave like champs. I think i’ll stop seeking out 4/8’s at this point and clean up the 7 that I do have that are working for me.
They are a diverse group oh 7. Some vintage, some old new stock, and one contemporary.
At first I was going to try and restore all thier scales, but some are just not “saveable,” so I’m going to give em all matching scales to appeal to my OCD. A odd kind of 7 day set as it were.
It’s going to be a little challenging because I really want all the scales to be identical, but from the pivot pin to the end of the blade, between them all, there is an about 1/2” difference in length. Bah.
I’ve decided to stay with classic black. I’ll use a black paper Micarta lining the inside with nickel. The wedge will be white paper Micarta. I’m hoping to find washers that are nickel or at least stainless, but I’m having a heck of a time finding em so far. The pins will be brass.
Wish me luck!
Oh and can someone direct me to that pdf with all the scale outline for cutting out. Thanks!David

Thanked: 4827They are big blades Tom. The one has a small chip but it will still be 8/8 or dam close to it when it is honed up.
Steve, if you check my profile albums you can see that I have most of mine in an old display cabinet and the tiered displays are styrofoam builders sheets with a piece of fabric over it. It does not have to be fancy, it just needs to get the job done. You can dummy up a pretty cool display with sturofoam and fabric. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
