Hey David, does the second from the bottom have metal inlay? If so are you planning on transferring it?
Also, if you find a scale pattern you like, you can scan it and shrink or enlarge the pattern to size and print it out..
That's what I had to do with a pattern before and it worked well.
Never used a pattern to make scale shapes though, always just traced the blade and then drew scales to fit..

It's cool that you like the 4/8 razors, most seem to disregard them. I've got a small collection of them too.

That’s a cool idea about the scanning thing! I still have to find those cutouts, but when I do - great idea.

I don’t know how to do the whole inlay transfer. I doubt I will anyway because it would really stick out. Maybe on the back?

As for 4/8’s, most people really don’t like em. And I can see why! They are like that Ferrari you’ve always loved that you crashed in the parking lot pulling out the first time. It’s SO easy to change the angle ... unknowingly, many people don’t do well. The only thing I wish was that they were heavier. That’s one of the advantages of the larger blades.

    Each to thier own.

Anyway, it’s going to be a lot of work! I’m getting excited.

Oboy, David......I have a few sweet ones. A little tricky. Seems they get too sharp or something. They are fun on occasion.

Kinda like a surgeon shaving with his scalpel!
    Is there a 4/8 club?

Yep, I think we're onto something here boys!
There's gonna be a run on the market... Small blades will be going up in price, and those massive choppers are gonna be scrap metal prices...

I keep looking at buying a few pin vises but I just can't pull the trigger with some of the prices they sell them for. Plus I haven't been able to find any locally. So I got some wood dowel, drilled the proper size, used a little epoxy and did a quick sanding. Now I have 3 for doing the work I need to do. I might still get one someday but with the shipping, it's just hard for me...

As far as little razors go, how about a true 2/8...

I did give it a couple passes on my cheeks just to say I've shaved with it. At this point, it's a 1/4 hollow. Was an extra hollow that was cracked.

So, Can I join the club Mike T.?

A 4/8ths. Torrey, is what I started with, and used , for pert near 30 years. Then I found this place....and I got a few more. Took the Boker out for a ride, a few days ago. Gifted B52 a W&B 4/8 moustache razor, for Movember.

Plenty of others, never checked to see how many I have.
