    Found my next project.

I was looking for some things in a cabinet and saw a brown box out of the corner of my eye...is that a razor box? Took some time for my mental hard drive to find the memory of the purchase. My wife and I drove around the state stopping at bed and breakfasts, antique stores, and wineries for our honeymoon. I picked this up at one of our stops and had put it away not really knowing what to do with it at the time. Now I know what to do with it

I was going to start on it after I'd finished up my re-work razor, but Sharptonn told me to get to work The tip was hitting the wedge so I thought the scales had shrunk. After unpinning it (and breaking a scale) I'm pretty sure the bent pivot pin is why it was hitting the wedge (also probably helped break the scale). The break didn't go through the pivot hole so it's savable.

I got the scales cleaned up with some soap and water and cleaned the blade up with 600 to 1500 wet/dry and some steel wool. I rounded the heel a bit and muted the point a touch. I also filled in the diamond with some enamel paint.

Scales cleaned, no work on the blade

My plan is to cold blue the tang and part of the spine leaving the C-MON logo area without bluing and then gently polish the blade faces. I also need to repair the scale and get a few scratches out.

Were the lettering and lines of the logo area originally filled with black paint?

NOW we're cooking, Jelly! It was blued on the hammered part.
That thing will make you throw rocks at those worn old wedges!

Looks nice jelly, believe that model the letters were filled with red.

So there was no bluing on the top and bottom of the tang?
I don't think I'll be giving up my wedges, but it is a super thin grind and should shave well if I do my part right. I'll use it on my anniversary since I got it on our honeymoon.

Red letters? The one I found in the razor clubs looked black. Third pic down https://sharprazorpalace.com/razor-c...klyn-ny-7.html Or maybe the color is just missing?

Dnt know the color but id go with black on the letters. The top and bottom of the tang? Blued like the rest of the blued areas is my guess. That will be a great shaver when done. Whats your plan for scales?

The one I saw had the bluing as well, just the diamond and letters were red on the blued backdrop.
Looked good, but so will black, just less contrasty..

Repair the break with some CA, sand 400 to 1500 and give them a little polish. They're in pretty good shape, just want to clean up a couple of shallow scratches.

I've found that while CA (Super glue) has it's uses, it has it's limits. I've found that 'Shear Strength' isn't one of them. I fear that with the flexing of the scales that you may end up with the same results as Mel Gibson's attempts at making a rocking chair:
