Yes and it can become chasing the dragon like audiophilia or competitive running/swimming/cycling. It seems that "there," is a mirage.

I had to buy a piece of Nickel and cut it lengthwise to make it into two Nickel Anodes but it only cost 10 bucks on Amazon next-day delivery. The rest of the stuff I had at home. I dug up an old Wall Wart that put out 5VDC and 700mA. Found some Alligator clips and with a little solder and heat shrink, I had a power supply. It was really pretty easy to do. The hardest part is cleaning up the old handle. It's got to be clean very well and polished as much as possible.

Awesome Jerry. I'll have to try that. That could be really useful for restoring 100+ year old lock trim that was nickel plated.

    Looks really good, Jerry.

As for myself, I've finished the scales with the inlay. Gave up on the brass, too difficult to cut it for a good looking fit. Tom's idea of rub n buff gave me another idea.

Powder paint.! I've got pearl powder paint for making fishing lures.

Not the same effect as MOP, but it worked wonderfully. Once heated, it becomes as hard as rock. The paint did recess into the cavity slightly, but I'd planned for that by filling with a drop of CA. Just a bit of sanding to level it all out, and a quick polish to finish them off.

Nice work. That paint powder is intriguing.
The electro plating video was great.
I’m going to go Google paint powder.

I know Milk paint comes in a powder form but ive never used it. You mix up what you want with water. But I dont think something like that would work with fishing lures.

This morning i went out to the garage and the smell of death or something auful was strong. I took the trash can out of the garage. It gets used for whatever Im working on in the garages to no garbage. Then I moved my car outside thinking I hit something on the road as the wifes car didnt move yesterday.

I put a couple fans in and the door open. Hoping it will get better. I checked the jar of solution I made for the Electroplating and its sealed and doesnt smell. Thats the only thing different lately.
I hope it gets better as I have no clue where its coming from.

Look under your bench Jerry, maybe a little critter got under there and never came out again.
