Here's 'one' of the latest projects that I've been working on and is ready to go home. It's only a display piece that will hang in my very good friend Ski's workshop. It's a little payback for helping me by making a display box similar to the one that he did here:

Here's the completed project coated with 'Ren wax' and ready for display;

I have been working on this set of scales for quite awhile now. Chechen wood with MOP dot and CA finish. I had to start all over twice cause I kept sanding through the finish as soon as I started to sand. The first time I noticed that the glue was rolling as I sanded it so I figured it didn't cure even though it took about 2hrs between coats. Well the second time I waited longer between coats and let it sit for a couple days once I got all the coats. Even after all that it continued to do the same thing and I couldn't figure it out. At first I was thinking it was the wood cause the last time I made a set from Chechen I had the same problem just not as bad. I wanted to go with a CA finish with this wood cause it really brings out all the details. That is when I found out that super glue can go bad and the older it gets the longer it starts to take to set. I had no idea. So I decided to just start from scratch again, but with a new bottle of glue. What do you know the glue dried within minutes. I still let it sit for a day per instructions on the bottle to fully cure. I sanded them down and they were looking good. Gave them a quick buff with some compound to see what I was working with. There are still some low spots so I will have to go back, but that is fine after all hassle I had to go through to get them to this point. The razor I made these for has been sitting around waiting and waiting, but not sure if I want to put them on that razor now. For some reason I just don't like the razor that much. Guess I have a little time to decide. Just have to remember now that CA glue goes bad.

looks great, the bamboo gives a very traditional look, just fitting for the Kamisori blades it keeps safe, what does the inscription translate to?
I think a japanese puzzle box would make a great razor box & it is safe from anyone who can't figure out the moves combination to open it LOL
It works well and is super durable, probably the toughest grass in the world.
I have been looking for some burl wood for this razor for awhile now and I finally found some that I liked that didn't cost more than the razor. Roughed out the shape and took a break. They still need to be thinned a lot and not quite sure how I am going to contour them yet. This will be my first Swedish razor. The razor still a little polish, but it can wait till I get the scales done.
